Athletics and Recreation
Nurture your mind. Check. We’ve got that covered. Now, what about your body? At Dean College, we believe that it is important to focus on building your whole self, mind and body.
There is plenty to do to stay in shape at Dean. Pieri Gymnasium is the central hub for sports and fitness on campus. In addition to the main gym with seating capacity for 900, it houses a fitness center that is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including Precor cardiovascular equipment, a full line of Cybex strength training machines, and free weights. Aerobics and Pilates classes are routinely offered to students. The facility is also home to the longest operating collegiate indoor swimming pool in the United States!
Students are actively engaged in recreational and intercollegiate sports. In fact, 50% of students participate in athletics on the NJCAA or intramural level. The most active intramural sports on campus include soccer, volleyball and softball with teams ranging from men’s and women’s to co-ed. If you’re are looking for something a little less organized, try pick-up basketball in the gym or soccer or Wiffle Ball on Grant Field!
Our intercollegiate athletic teams are an important part of campus life, whether you participate as a competitor or as a fan. Our 10 NJCAA athletic teams enjoy a long history of success including championships, bowl games, All-Americans and graduates who transfer to play at some of the country’s top athletic programs. Go Bulldogs!
