Early Action Information

FAFSA Online Is Now Open!

Now is the time to apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov. Don't wait!

Early Action at Dean College

If you are excited about how Dean College can help you prepare for what's next, then don't wait to apply.  Dean College offers an Early Action Plan that will allow you to receive a fast decision on your application.  Here is the basic information about Early Action at Dean:

  • Apply by December 1
  • Submit all required application materials (transcripts, test scores, etc.) by December 20
  • You'll receive an admissions decision by January 15
  • Pay your enrollment deposit by February 15 to hold your place in the class (deposit is refundable until May 1)

Benefits of Early Action

  • We can review your application without your first semester senior grades
  • You'll receive your scholarship award sooner (awards average $15,000/year!)
  • You'll receive top priority for housing registration
  • You won't have to wait to get an admissions decision!

What If I Don't Get Accepted Early Action?

Early Action applicants who are not immediately accepted to the college will be placed on hold and re-reviewed when we receive updated transcripts and test scores, so it is to your advantage to apply early.

Important Information for Applicants to Dance or Theatre Programs

In addition to the regular application for admission requirements, applicants to degree programs in Dance or Theatre are required to complete an on campus audition.  To be considered as an Early Action applicant, applicants to these programs should schedule their audition for an available date before December 20.  Information on available audition dates and process can be found at www.dean.edu/audition.

How to Apply

Dean offers a number of options to complete and submit an application.  Be sure to indicate on your application that you wish to be considered under the Early Action plan.

Dean College will also accept the Common Application. However, since Dean is currently not a member institution of the Common Application, we can only accept a printed copy of the application mailed to the Office of Admission.

I chose Dean because I wanted to stay close to home and have the opportunity to go to a small school for two years to achieve high grades, and be able to transfer to a four year school after graduating from Dean.
